After completing my post-grad in journalism, I worked my way up in the TV industry from Researcher through to Producer on a range of programmes from Blue Peter to Dispatches, and found my passion making strong human interest-led documentaries. I also worked in radio at BBC 5live where skills such as accuracy, speed and story-telling are crucial to success.

So with three young children I put my TV career ‘on hold’ to be a full-time mummy, which is by far one of the hardest but most amazing jobs in the world! In between the twin and toddler taming, I started my blog ‘Twins Plus One Mummy’ just as a creative outlet at first but really got the blogging bug! I was becoming more digitally savy and so decided to make it more official by retraining in Social Media Marketing with Digital Mums. This led to a career change and opened up a whole new set of opportunities. Thus Proper Social was born.

My enthusiasm for story-telling and documentary never went away though and became more important than ever. Now I love the whole process of film-making, from producing and directing, filming and editing. I'm passionate about creating all sorts of films, from our everyday family adventures through to brand videos and fun stop-motions.

I believe the best way to learn is by doing and so my family are always my first choice to film (though not always willing!). It's my way of experimenting by capturing our daily life on film to create content and preserve memories. I’ve made all sorts of videos from family adventures, day in the life’s and portrait films of my daughters.
